Arts Council England
The Arts Council is the strategic support body for Library and Museums in England providing cultural funding opportunities and support for national initiatives and developments. We work closely with the Society of Chief Librarians to support the Universal Offers and Promises.

British Library

Calibre Audio Library
Our audio books bring the pleasure of reading to people who have sight problems, dyslexia or physical disabilities. We offer a wide choice of books on standard cassettes and MP3 disks, fiction and non-fiction, for both children and adults. The service is easy to use and is absolutely free.

CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals is the leading professional body for librarians, information specialists and knowledge managers. CILIP forms a community of around 36,000 people engaged in library and information work.

ClearVision is a UK postal lending library of mainstream children's books with added braille. Our books all have braille (or Moon), print and pictures, making them suitable for visually-impaired and sighted children and adults to share. There are over 13,000 books in the collection, including tactile board books, simple stories for young children and stimulating books for newly fluent readers

Dyslexia Action
Dyslexia Action is a non profit organisation based in the UK, providing support to those affected by dyslexia and literacy difficulties, across all sectors and training providers.  The organisation also provides specialised training to teachers through a variety of courses and projects, as well as undertaking research on, and raising awareness of, the various issues surrounding dyslexia and literacy difficulties.

MAL: Museums, Archives and Libraries Wales
MAL: Museums Archives and Libraries Wales provides the Minister for Heritage with authoritative policy advice; gives advice and financial support to local museums, archives and libraries; develops and implements policies appropriate to Wales.

Reading Sight
Reading Sight is a new free website providing practical information and resources for library staff about all aspects of providing an accessible library service for people with sight loss. Topics covered include reading materials, reading aids and assistive technologies, supporting readers, understanding sight loss, developing and marketing library services and staff training. There is also an online forum for sharing ideas, good practice and keeping up to date with developments. Reading Sight is led by RNIB and supported by Share the Vision and The Ulverscroft Foundation.

RNIB Reading
The RNIB page which provides guidance to blind and partially sighted people on accessing books and other media. There are links to a range of services and media.

Scottish Library & Information Council
The Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) is the independent advisory body to the Scottish Government and Scottish Ministers on library and Information matters. SLIC members include all local authority, higher education, further education organisations, NHS Trust library services, as well as other specialist library and information organisations.

Society of Chief Librarians
The Society of Chief Librarians (SCL) is a local government association made up of the chief librarian of each library authority in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. SCL takes a leading role in the development of public libraries.

SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries) promotes excellence in library services in higher education and national libraries across the UK and Ireland.
